Growth and development: Piotr's story at Flexspecialisten

Within Flexspecialisten one principle is always central: growth. Growth of our organization, growth of our services and above all: growth of our people. Because when people are given room to learn, develop and grow, movement is created. And movement creates progress - for both employees and clients.

A great example is Piotr Kedzierski, now Coordinator of Facilities & Housing, who shows how personal ambition and an open corporate culture can reinforce each other.

From summer job to permanent position

Piotr started as Flexsupport at Flexspecialisten in September 2020. What he initially came to the Netherlands for a temporary summer job soon grew into more. "I came to the Netherlands with a friend, hoping to find temporary work during the corona pandemic. After a few months of working through another agency, I began to feel more and more at home in the Netherlands. The culture, the mentality and - very practically - the extra hour of daylight per day, made a big difference to me."

Piotr brought with him a valuable backpack of experience. He worked in the hospitality industry for eight years, including five years at an outsourcing company in Poland that was active in the hotel business. "I was involved in the growth of the company from the beginning. We started in Warsaw - my hometown - and expanded step by step to Gdańsk, Łódź, Kraków and Rzeszów. We built teams, set up new offices and worked intensively to improve our services."

After that period, he worked for three more years as Deputy Food & Beverage Manager at a hotel and conference center, where he was responsible for the restaurant, banqueting and conference area. "There I really learned the importance of organization, customer focus and leadership," he said.

Although I started with production work in the Netherlands, I soon knew that this did not match my ambitions. I came to the conclusion that I either had to return to Poland, or apply for a position that better suited my experience. And so I went through the recruitment process at Flexspecialisten, after which I could immediately start in a Flexsupport position.

With his solid background in the hospitality industry, moving into a more coordinating role was a logical next step.

A work environment where development is key

Within Flexspecialisten, Piotr was given the opportunity to grow from his Flexsupport position. "I was fortunate to be mentored by colleagues who believed in me. I was listened to, I was given space to contribute ideas and above all: I was challenged to look further."

Recently, Piotr took on the role of Facilities & Housing Coordinator at Flexspecialisten. Together with his supervisor Didier, he works on optimizing housing and fleet management. "We see a lot of room for improvement. And that is exactly what drives me: making processes smarter, more efficient and more customer-oriented. Every day brings new insights and opportunities."

Culture as a foundation

What Piotr values most about his work? The room for ownership and the culture of mutual respect. "You don't always have to agree - as long as people listen. That ultimately leads to better decisions and more support. Flexspecialisten' corporate culture encourages openness and ownership, and that makes all the difference."

Tips from experience

Finally, Piotr shares a motto that helps guide his career:

"Be satisfied with what you are doing. If your work doesn't give you energy, maybe it's time for a new step. Life is short - let's make choices that contribute to our happiness."

Why this story matters

For Flexspecialisten, Piotr's story is more than an inspiring example. It underlines our vision that investing in people pays off. Employees who develop themselves create organizations that move forward - also for our clients. Because when you work with people who are on the move, you notice the difference: in quality, in involvement and in results.
