January 2026 Flex Employee of the Month: Mark Kroone

This month, we’re spotlightingMark Krooneas our Flex Employee of the Month! Mark started the apprentice butcher program  Flexspecialisten at Van der Zee Slagerijen. Before that, he worked passionately as a chef for many years. Although he enjoyed cooking, he was ready for a new challenge. He found it in the butchery trade, and that turned out to be an excellent choice.

From cook to apprentice butcher  

The transition from the kitchen to the butcher shop took some getting used to for Mark, but he soon felt right at home. He’s really enjoying his training as an apprentice butcher and finds that he picks up new things quickly. He particularly enjoys the variety between cutting and preparing meat and interacting with customers. That combination makes the work both fun and educational for him.

Pleasantly surprised  

When we surprised Mark with the title of Flex Employee of the Month, he was pleasantly surprised. He comes to work every day with enthusiasm, and that doesn’t go unnoticed. His dedication, eagerness to learn, and positive attitude are highly valued by his colleagues and managers.  

Future in the field  

Mark definitely sees himself working here for a long time to come. He wants to continue developing his skills as a butcher and doesn’t rule out the possibility of even becoming a head butcher in the future. He also Flexspecialisten values his relationship with Flexspecialisten :

“We always have a good relationship. Whenever I need someone, there’s always someone available.” 

Why Mark is Flex Employee of the Month 

Mark has been named Flex Employee of the Month for his friendly demeanor and strong work ethic. He is driven, always punctual, and tackles tasks with a hands-on approach. In addition, Mark is eager to learn and is always open to picking up new skills and improving himself. His dedication and positive attitude have led customers to explicitly say they want more employees like Mark. You can hardly get a bigger compliment than that!
