Growth and Development: Piotr’s Story at Flexspecialisten

A good example of this isPiotr Kedzierski, now the Facilities & Housing Coordinator, who demonstrates how personal ambition and an open corporate culture can reinforce each other. 

From summer job to permanent position 

Piotr started working as a Flexsupport at Flexspecialisten in September 2020. Although he initially came to the Netherlands for a temporary summer job, it quickly turned into something more. “I came to the Netherlands with a friend, hoping to find temporary work during the COVID-19 pandemic. After working through another agency for a few months, I started to feel more and more at home in the Netherlands. The culture, the mindset, and—very practically—the extra hour of daylight each day made a big difference to me.” 

Piotr brought a wealth of experience to the table. He had worked in the hospitality industry for eight years, including five years at an outsourcing company in Poland that operated in the hotel sector. “I was involved in the company’s growth from the very beginning. We started in Warsaw—my hometown—and expanded step by step to Gdańsk, Łódź, Kraków, and Rzeszów. We built teams, set up new offices, and worked intensively on improving our services.” 

After that, he spent another three years working as Deputy Food & Beverage Manager at a hotel and conference center, where he was responsible for the restaurant, banqueting, and conference facilities. “That’s where I really learned how important organization, customer focus, and leadership are.” 

Although I started out in the Netherlands doing production work, I quickly realized that it didn’t align with my ambitions. I came to the conclusion that I either had to return to Poland or apply for a position that better matched my experience. So I went through the recruitment process at Flexspecialisten, after which I was able to start immediately in a Flexsupport role. 

Given his solid background in the hospitality industry, the move to a more coordinating role was a logical next step. 

A work environment where professional development is a priority 

At Flexspecialisten , Piotr was given Flexspecialisten opportunity to advance from his role in Flexsupport. “I was fortunate to be mentored by colleagues who believed in me. They listened to me, gave me the freedom to share my ideas, and, above all, challenged me to think beyond the obvious.” 

Piotr recently took on the role of Facilities & Housing Coordinator at Flexspecialisten. Together with his manager, Didier, he is working to optimize housing and fleet management. “We see a lot of room for improvement. And that’s exactly what drives me: making processes smarter, more efficient, and more customer-focused. Every day brings new insights and opportunities.”

What does Piotr value most about his work? The freedom to contribute his own ideas and the culture of mutual respect. “You don’t always have to agree—as long as people are listening.
